TIssue Thavanis...The new look?
Tissue Thavani's, a trend of the bygone days. Thus, I suggest do not wear a tissue thavani, unless you really really have to, cos nothing else matches, and your super thin. Cos otherwise as like the above picture, and from personal experience, no kidding, the thavani will just not mould your body. It will be like a shield, stiff and unflexible, and keep moving to show your navel, skin, etc. A total pain. PLus the fact that the pleats never remain (unless you really sat on it!) , hence causing you to take an hour more to get ready.
For little kiddo's, whatever I said above doesn't count. Because they don't ahve the unconvenient body partas adolscence brings, tissue thavani's are great for them.
I suggest, if you really want the golden look, which looks great, go for the crumpled material as can be seen below (Don't ask me what it's called, no clue!). This material will give you more flex, not make you look like a baboon(especially for fat peeps), and accentuate your features.

What I don't like is the jewellery, makes her look like sanyasi ( Long is great, these beads[or wht eva they r] arnt!), and I also don't like the golden border on the thavani. It should have been left borderless to mix in with the pavadai.

There are a lot of things I don't like about this paavadai thavani. Buth the worst has to be the paavadai. By intending to accentuate the body structure, the tailor has produced something that is not a paavaadai.
You need to have pleats in a pavadai. IT should not be soo tight, that it stretches horizontally as can be seen in the above picture. It just ruins the effect of the paavadai.
The thavani can be draped to accentuate curves. But the paavadai should not be so restricted. The more it flows, the more elegance you get. And I can't understand how this model was convenient in it.....

Same colour Thavani
Wearing the same colour thavani as the pavadai seems to be a trend. To a certain effect it MAY look good. In the above photo, I don't know which part of 'same colour' the stylist did not understand. The thavani is like three shades off the paavadai. IF you cant find the same colour, please don't try to pass it off with a similar shade, because clearly it looks 'orrible.
Below is a photograph, where the same colour has worked well. It is also probably due to the heavily worked paavadai balanced off by the matching same coloured thavani.

Sexy Thavani

I generally love Sneha in a half saree. She's such a homely figure and fits the scene of a traditional girl, completely. However if you compare the following three pics of her in a half saree, on epicture stands out above the rest. Having your hair out with half saree is the worst accessory. Even half up, creates a more cohesive look.
